Boys Name Banners!

So you know how much I love banners and I finally got to make a couple for my nephews. I have been working on the idea for awhile in my head and made some time to make them even though I am working a ton. I just worked on it a little every night to get my craft fix. That is the bonus of having my craft room.
So here is part of the process. I was working on inking the edges and watching videos at the same time. I think this project was what got me thru the month of January. I could easily stop and pick up where I left off the next day. The paper is from Close To My Heart called Urban. I cut the banner out on my Cricut with my Art Philosophy cartridge. I used Expoxy Bubbles and Durables from CTMH.  I was trying to make it for a boy and add some cool male embellishments. I cut the letters with my Sizzix dies and the rosettes and snowflakes were with a Tim Holtz die. I always cut a couple pieces extra in case of an oops so I made a door sign with them.

Do not forget that Kathy's party is still going on and check out the clearance section while you are shopping. There is still some good stuff on there.http://brendamckerchie.ctmh.com

Yay I'm Back!!!!

Well sorry everyone for the long break but I am back!  My computer died and I was borrowing Krista's, however hers needed some work done on it so I had to take a break. I was seriously frustrated. I spent a few days at 3 in the morning ( 3rd shift syndrome) yelling at her computer because it did not want to do what it was supposed to!!!!! I have a banner to share with you today. It was a Christmas present for my "other Daughter" Anna. She is so funny. She always calls me mom. well her family finally got to move into a new house and she has her own room. We wanted to do something nice for her.

So I used the Close To My Heart paper Chalk Board for this project. I used sorbet ribbon from CTMH. The bling and butterflies were from my stash. And lastly, I used Tim Holzt Sizzix dies for the Fleurette's. Oh and I can not forget my Artbooking Cartridge. Well thanks for stopping by and hanging in there with me while I had technical difficulties. Scrap Happy  Again Brenda

Hot Pink and Green Banner

I have been working on making all the kids a banner for their room. I had to take a break when I made all the wedding invitations but now I am back at it. This one kind of stumped me because of the colors in her room but I found some older paper from my stash that would work. I used my CTMH Cricut cartridges to cut everything out. I added some Stickles  to the letter and spread it around to make it sparkly. Some of the bling is CTMH and some is from my stash. I made the card with my scraps. Sorry about the picture quality. I do not know why I could not get a good picture. Do not forget Kathy's party is open and we will have a stamp drawing for everyone who orders. Thanks for stopping by and Scrap Happy!

More Sweetheart Projects

i have been working on using up a bunch of my Sweet Heart paper. I have made some fun heart valentines but this week I made a banner fro my scrap room. I have seen many of these online in other people's scrap rooms and wanted to try it myself. I cut all the shapes by hand from my scraps because I did not want them to all be the same and then I got out my sewing machine and just sewed them together. My sewing machine is not in the best working order but I was able to sew through this thin paper quite well. Unfortunately it was in out basement when we were on vacation and it flooded and my machine has not been right since.
I have not decided if I want to leave it up or just put it up for Valentines. Right now I still have my Christmas one up and this one! I think it is time to take the Christmas one down for sure, but this one does not say anything about valentines so I could get away with leaving it up.

Christmas Banner/Simon Says Challenge

Well I think I bit off a little more than I could chew on this project! I saw the Monday Simon Says challenge(not until Friday) and had this great idea. The problem was that it needed to be done and posted by Sunday for the challenge! The challenge is holiday countdown. See it here.www.simonsaysstampblog.com/mondaychallenge
I just got the new Close To My Heart stamp Magical Holiday and decided this would be perfect. Every tag has a number and the middle ones also say Merry Christmas. You could hang one up everyday in December until Christmas, but I have decided that I put to much work into it to not have it up all month! I had a hard time getting pictures because I have spent so much time on this that it is now dark! LOL Below are some more pictures and I am making a list of supplies at the bottom. Boy you should have seen the mess I had in my scraproom! Thanks for stopping by.

Laugh banner.

Krista gets frustrated because I always am making banners but not for her so I wanted to make something unique for her. I got the Laugh from Hobby Lobby. I was going to try to make it a gray/ blue and I added some reinker to Pearl paint. It ended up silver but I decided that I liked it that way.  I stamped on the silver and card stock and embossed it with black embossing powder.  I used Sweet-Music, Universal Backgrounds, Love Life, Card Commentary, and Star Power stamps. The paper is leftover Recollections  and I used other leftover stuff from my spring and the girls banners. Also just a note I saved the little cup that comes with sweet rolls and holds the frosting to mix my paint in.I made the stick pin and the flowers were cut out with my Cricut. The rosette was done on my sizzix with my Tim Holtz die. I have really got my moneys worth with that die! krista really liked it but now she wants ones to match that sat live and love! Thanks for stopping by and have a nice holiday.

Banner with Dream Pop

So the count down begins.  We are partying this Saturday for my birthday. I am getting stuff ready for us to make and cleaning the house. I can not wait!!!! Remember girls you can get a ticket for RSVP, for commenting on my blog, and bringing a snack.  Two tickets for your order and an extra if you order the SOTM. Plus the first four people to order get a cool create banner. ( check it out on an earlier post)   Okay now for the banner info.  Yes I know another banner! I really am obsessed.  The goal on this project was to see how big I could make the rosettes on my Cricut with my Artise cartridge.  I cut them at 2.25 but now that I think about it I may be able to get bigger if I rotate it on my Cricut. The paper is the new Dream Pop that you can get this month for ten dollars with a 35 dollar order. Add five more dollars to your order and you can get the SOTM for five dollars and also a create banner fro me and three tickets.

I love the new card stock with the resist designs and to be thrifty I punched a circle in the middle of my scallop where the title would be and now I have some extra circles for another project! Sorry not a very good picture however. I also used some Maya Road bakers twine, harvest Corn. The stamp is Urban Alaphabet and I used some Hobby Lobby bling.  Thanks for stopping by. Scrap Happy!

Summer/create banners

Okay If you have not figured it out yet I am a little obsessed with banners lately. This is the summer banner I was planning to make. Now I only need a fall one. I liked it so much I made myself a create one. The paper is K&Company. i used my Tim Holtz Sizzix die to cut out the rosettes. I inked the edges with Tim Holtz Weathered Wood , Walnut, and Antique Linen ink. I hot glued the rosettes together. thank you Kathy for talking Becky and I into talking to the lady at our crop. She said she hot glued hers and it is much easier. The burlap is from Hobby Lobby and I inked it also. I used my 7/8th inch circle punch and the stamp set Serendipity for the letters.I also used CTMH Just Blooms-Flutter and Color-Ready Garden wooden Shapes.  I am really excited about how this turned out.  I keep telling my husband and daughter\ to look at it. In Krista's own words" This is getting annoying"  LOL so I am really excited to share this! I even think my pictures turned out! One of the few things that was not made in the middle of the night and I had daylight to take photos.
