Studio J layout 4

How about another studio J layout. This one is with the new paper Chantilly which I have not ordered but with Studio J I can still play with it. I like the large photo in the center on this layout. Even with that photo I could still get seven pictures on this layout. Remember you can get a two page layout for only 5 dollars this month and the deal has been extended until March 15th. Cherry-o layout

This layout was done with Cherry-O paper. (level 2 and Creative basics) The stamp I used was Love Life. I also used Color Ready  Kraft Borders and some stickers from Connection Club awards. Don't forget you can still order from Kathy's party and you will get your name in a drawing for this stamp when you do. If you order and post a comment on my blog you will get your name in the drawing twice. It was kind of nice to do some summer stuff since it is freezing here and we have a ton of snow. I am so sick of shoveling! I can not wait for spring!  Thanks for stopping by.

Round Birthday Cards

This card is "old school" meaning I got out some older stuff out of the closet to make something new. The stamp was given to me by my friend Tricia. Thanks Tricia. Then I got out my really old cutting system( It was my first system ever) to cut the circle card. The other stamps I used were: A Little Thank, and Card Chatter- Birthday. I used a black marker to make the fake stitching around the edge and the paper was scraps from my stash. If you look closely at the bottom photo you will see that it is from the paper my puppy chewed the corner of! Thanks so much for stopping by.  Scrap Happy Brenda

Studio J #3

Okay here is another Studio J layout. I got my pages in the mail today and the quality is really good. They look like a regular page but they are flat. It is cool how all the embellishments look so real. I wish I would have put a matte around the other photos on the strip on the right. Thanks for stopping by. Scrap Happy Brenda

Typeset 8x8 layout and card from scraps

Okay today lets do some real scrapbooking and crafting.( no Studio J today) I made this 8x8 layout and cards from my scraps. I just can not throw anything away! The stamps were: Thought full tidings, Capture the date, School is here, and the Art Philosophy stamp. The ticket was already stamped so I do not know what set that came from. I cut the title for the layout out with Art Philosophy. I also used some Maya road twine.   Scrap Happy Brenda

Studio J layout #2

Another thing I love about Studio J is that you can make pages with new or old paper. This is older paper that I never got to order because it I was just getting started with Close To My Heart when this was in the book. I also liked that I can make my pictures black and white of sepia. While I was frustrated that I could not make some pictures smaller to fit it is fun to make them bigger and not pay extra for photo processing. The journaling on these pages is still neatly typed but in a different font. It will suggest one for you however you can still change it if you like. I really like this one! I love the paper and the photos. Below  is the link to a couple more tutorials from Amy. http://brendamckerchie.ctmh.com

Sparkle Banner

I saw this saying when I was on the computer and loved it.  I made these banners for Krista and the girls.  I wanted some sparkly paper and I ended up using some horns from New Years Eve to make the letters. I used my Sizzix for some of the letters and I cut the flowers out with my Artiste cartridge.I added a little of the bling I got from Hobby Lobby also.

Studio-J layout

While I will always love traditional scrapbooking I decided to give Studio-J one more try since the Two Page layout is only 5 DOLLARS all this month.  I figure that for one I am saving on photo developing cost and it will help me get caught up and to do some of the pictures that normally stump me. I did try Studio-J once when they had a free deal where you could just get the computer picks.
So this is what I think. Number one I like getting the new papers right away with out having to cut up my brand new stash.  I am a bit of a hoarder and I actually do not have this paper yet. You do not have to think about where to put the pictures when you are stumped. The title was a easy breezy. I like that my journaling is neatly typed and it is also spell checked. I did this one cold turkey and I was able to figure it out pretty easy. I have since found some great tutorial's on u-tube and I will put a link to them at the bottom of this post. You can still change the paper and move stuff around to customize your layout.  The one thing I was frustrated with is that you can not make your picture smaller to fit in the spots and I was not happy with how much got cut out. I Will have to edit some pictures first next time possibly.I did not have to much trouble down loading them but I am still waiting ( this post is scheduled, today is actually Friday) so I will have to see what I think when they get here. http://brendamckerchie.ctmh.com to try Studio J today! Thanks for stopping by.
