New Timberline paper!

Only one more day until you can order from the new Close To My Heart book! The paper I used for these cards is the new Timberline. I love the wood side. These papers are going to work great for my camping pages. The stamps I use were Card Chatter-Sympathy, Friendship Bouquet, and Pure Adventure. The burlap is from Hobby lobby. The embossing folder was a gift from my friend Tricia. Thanks, this will go great with my camping photos also! I colored the sunflower with my alcohol markers and added some flowers from Just Paper Blooms-Paradise. I was able to pick them up for a deal on the While Supplies Last list. You can shop here http://brendamckerchie.ctmh.com Plus everyone who orders from Kathy's party will get their name in a drawing for the stamp pictured below! Thanks for stopping by and Scrap Happy!

Cleaning Blocks and Stamp Cleaning Pad

i have discovered an easy way for me to clean my stamping blocks and scrubber. Right in my kitchen sink! When I am done with my dishes I dump my blocks and scrubber in my dish water.

You can use a Magic eraser to get the sticky stuff off and then rinse well. I then stand them all up on a dish towel to dry! Easy Peasy!

More Sweetheart Projects

i have been working on using up a bunch of my Sweet Heart paper. I have made some fun heart valentines but this week I made a banner fro my scrap room. I have seen many of these online in other people's scrap rooms and wanted to try it myself. I cut all the shapes by hand from my scraps because I did not want them to all be the same and then I got out my sewing machine and just sewed them together. My sewing machine is not in the best working order but I was able to sew through this thin paper quite well. Unfortunately it was in out basement when we were on vacation and it flooded and my machine has not been right since.
I have not decided if I want to leave it up or just put it up for Valentines. Right now I still have my Christmas one up and this one! I think it is time to take the Christmas one down for sure, but this one does not say anything about valentines so I could get away with leaving it up.

A quick card from scrapsn

So I made this card real quick one night when I needed a creative fix. I just used some scraps from my stash, but do you recognize the hearts? We got them from Build A Bear a long time ago! I love how fast this card was and the hearts add some dimension. Plus they are squishy so they will fit in an envelope really well. Thanks for stopping by!

Believe in Yourself Layout

I bought this paper at the scrapbook outlet, and no it is not Close To My Heart. I was excited to use some old stuff again. I used Simply Stated Rub-ons and Paper Bliss-Hearts that I have had forever. The only thing was that I went into panic mode when I decided the hearts would be perfect, but I could not find them! After tearing apart my scrapbook room i am happy to inform you that I did indeed finally hunt them down. Don't you just hate when you know you have something but you can not find it! The paper is by Little Yellow Bicycle and I also got the Chip-board butterflies from the Scrap Book Outlet.( K&Company) I used my new CTMH Scallop border punch and I added some flowers I got from Hobby Lobby on clearance after Easter. Thees are almost gone now. Well I really liked this layout and would have liked to make a couple smaller layouts for family but I did not have any more paper. I started looking at it and realized I could totally make my own with my CTMH stamps! Oh JOY!
This is my 8 1/2 by 11 inch version and bellow is an 8 x 8 layout. on the bonus side I was able to fit the idea to both sizes. If I cut the 12 x 12 paper it would have cut off some of the design.
I was even able to find a stamp with the phrase Believe In Yourself. I used a bunch of different sets of stamps, but only one or two stamps from each one. Here is the list!
Life Is Tweet
Card Word puzzle
The best Things
Be True
Celebrate Life
Boutique Borders
Love Life
Unknown workshop which had the believe In Yourself phrase

So what do you think? Does it look similar to the first paper? Thanks for stopping by. Brenda

DCWV challenge

I made this layout for a challenge. DCWV dcwvinc.blogspot.com I find challenges are a great way to jump start my creativity. The paper I used is The Guy Stack. I also used the following CTMH products Connections Club Rewards- Cocoa/Desert sand, Mile Post Shapes, Ribbon Round-Heart Felt Collection, Pattern Pennant stamp, and my Art Philosophy cartridge to cut out the tag. I also added a little Maya Road Twine. I made the cards in the second picture with some of the scraps and Emporium paper, Coca gross grain ribbon, Mile post shapes,Thank You Slides, coca brads, and the stamp A Little Thanks. All of those items are Close To My Heart. Lastly the last card was also made for the challenge. I used the Guy Stack, Maya Road Twine, and two CTMH stamps-Tool Time & Life Is Good. I was really happy to use some of my older stuff. Two points for me!  Thanks for stopping by and Scrap Happy!

Pop Up card with Sweetheart paper.

For this card I used two sizzix dies I got on clearance a month or so ago. I bought them both because they were such a good deal but as it works out they go great together. One is,  Card Heart #-D , and the other is hearts Primitive #2. I used some older Close To My Heart paper called Sweetheart and the stamps are also CTMH In My Heart,  and Mad About You.

I first cut out two hearts and the center heart. Fold all scores. Then use strong tape on the two bottom tabs and the small tab to connect the hearts.
Be careful not to let the tabs go over on the other heart. Make sure you can fold your card in the middle.

Next I cut a bunch of hearts out with the other die from all my scraps. So happy to be using them up!
And here is the finished card. I decided to make another one using the same paper pack but with red paper. I added some bling, Maya Road Twine and a die cut that I cut out with Spellbinders Nestabilities.

Well thanks for stopping by. Scrap Happy Brenda

Baby it is cold outside!

If you have not noticed I rarely post photos of myself. That is the advantage of being the family photographer. My daughter wanted to take some photos of the beautiful snow so we went outside in the freezing cold at her request. I am not found of winter and so far we have had a ton of snow and freezing rain but I am glad she had the idea because they are great. Stay warm and scrap! Brenda

Cards with Scholastic Scraps

I used the scraps from yesterdays layout to make these cards. The only thing extra I used was the A Little Of Everything stamp. I just hate wasting paper and scraps so it is great when I can do this!

Layout with Scholastic Paper

So this layout was made with some great While Supplies Last deals from Close To My Heart. The paper is Scholastic. The stamps I used are School Is Here (CTMH), and Torn Paper Boarder.(Jenni Bowlin. The embellishments are Memo Assortment( While Supplies Last Item, Embroidery floss( from stash) and Mile Post shapes. I got the embroidery floss from my mom's stuff when she passed away so I am always extra happy when I use some. Lastly, I cut the letters out with a ,new to me, Sizzix die I got at a super deal! It is an older die so that is why I got it so cheep. Well I have been working a ton and it is back to work tomorrow so not to much scrap time. :-(  I hope you all had a great New Years. Thanks for stopping by. Brenda
